What is QRP Radio you might ask?
Well let me tell you it is great.....
QRP under the "Q" Signals means "Please reduce power". When I first got my ticket I could not afford an Amplifier so I ran 100 watts. A couple years ago, I started chasing DX and decided to take the plunge and I bought a Dentron Clipperton L from my Dad. It was nice to be able to turn it on and break through the pile-ups but I discovered QRP just after buying the Amp. So back to the Question......
QRP nowadays stands for operating 10 watts or less on SSB and 5 watts or less on CW. Many people in this great hobby we all share choose to run QRP for many reasons. I like to run QRP when I am traveling for work mainly for the small rigs that you can build and take with you when you travel. I also enjoy building kits and there are many kits for the QRP'r out there.
